I don't hate either of those games, even if they do have a bad reputation or even some mixed reviews too.
Call me crazy, but I don't mind either of those games, despite me never playing any of the Castlevania games honestly. I think the Castlevania games are hard, but fun to play anyways.
Also, I have a lot of respect and gratefulness for Princess Elise III because she saved Sonic's life by not just kissing him on the mouth, but by using the power of the chaos emeralds in order to resurrect him, even if that kiss was controversial and it pissed people off. Elise hasn't done anything wrong and Sonic 2006 is rated E10+, not T for teen, M for mature, or AO for adult only of that matter.
Interspecies relationships aren't always bad or gross; it only depends on how they're done and what the circumstances are. The paring between Sonic and Elise doesn't bother me and originally in the 1991 comics of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic was gonna have a human girlfriend by the name of Madonna, but the bad news was that she was scrapped before it's final release. https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Madonna
So Elise wasn't really the first human girl he has dated; it was Madonna and I think both her and Elise deserve so much better.
Elise didn't cause bestiality or zoophilia because Sonic and the rest of the Mobians are anthropomorphic animals for crying out loud and plus, Elise also has a well written and nicely made sad origin or backstory too. So I feel sorry for her and I could befriend her, comfort her, and give her a nice friendly hug.
